Department: Youth Services - GIFT Program
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
 

Job Summary:

Are you a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional seeking a fulfilling opportunity to support youth and families? Join our team working within the GIFT program—a specialized psychiatric residential treatment facility.
 

The GIFT program is a 16-bed facility established in 2022 to provide intensive therapeutic services to males ages 13–17. Developed for youth in the care and custody of the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS), the program offers structured treatment and placement, with referrals made exclusively by DSS’s Residential Care Screening Team (RCST). Licensed by the Department of Mental Health as a group home, the program supports residents for an average stay of 6–9 months, creating meaningful opportunities for clinical growth and impact.
 

As a Therapist, you’ll deliver individual, family, and group counseling services tailored to each client’s needs. Our ideal candidate is trauma-informed, passionate about adolescent behavioral health, and skilled in developing and implementing treatment plans in a residential setting.

Competitive Hourly Rate: $27.50 – $39.88

Key Responsibilities:

🧠 Deliver compassionate and evidence-based individual, group, family, and/or practical counseling to support clients on their wellness journey📋 Conduct thorough intakes, screenings, and assessments to gain a holistic understanding of client needs🩺 Diagnose mental health conditions using clinical judgment and diagnostic tools📝 Create personalized, goal-oriented treatment plans that reflect best clinical practices and client strengths🤝 Collaborate in clinical staffing and interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure high-quality, coordinated care📅 Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation of all services provided🚪 Guide clients through critical transition periods, including discharge planning and referrals🚨 Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, coordinating emergency care when necessary🌱 Lead or contribute to specialized services such as trauma-informed care, co-occurring treatment, or other clinical focus areas🎓 Provide mentorship, consultation, and clinical insight to support the growth of peers and team members🌐 Act as a professional ambassador for the agency in both internal and external partnerships🔄 Step in with flexibility and commitment to support additional duties as assigned by your team leader


 

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field

Active licensure in Missouri as LPC, LCSW, or LMFT

Willingness to pursue licensure in additional states and provide telehealth services

Experience and knowledge of mental health and/or substance use diagnostic criteria
 

Required License/Certification (one of the following):

LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)

LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)

LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
 

Additional Qualifications:

Successful completion of background, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and valid auto insurance

Completion of New Hire Orientation and ongoing required training

Proficient documentation and time management skills

Strong interpersonal communication and collaborative abilities

Frequent typing, writing, and sitting; occasional standing or walking
