YourPace New Student Enrollment Specialist (2 positions)
The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to hire two (2) YourPace New Student Enrollment Specialists. The YourPace New Student Enrollment Specialist is responsible for providing direct service and enrollment support to YourPace students – with a focus on newly matriculated. The YourPace New Student Enrollment Specialist monitors student academic progress during the initial enrollment process – with an emphasis on the creation of the official degree audit(s) once students have matriculated. This includes guidance and mentoring to optimize the student experience and improve student retention and success – particularly at the start of their academic career. As a key member of the YourPace team, the YourPace New Student Enrollment Specialist assists with identifying areas of operational improvement, implementing new directives, responding to student issues or concerns, and assisting in developing guidelines for providing support to YourPace students and its stakeholders as well as acting as a liaison with other campus and UMS departments. Training and other events may require travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle. The direct supervisor will determine if the roles and responsibilities of the position can be efficiently and successfully met exclusively online or must be on location without significantly compromising teamwork, collaborations, and partnerships. Work locations and schedules will be determined during the onboarding process and periodic reviews will identify potential changes to remote work options. This position may require some nights and weekends. Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the salary is $43,951.00. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion. Key Responsibilities include (not limited to): + Provide academic planning and registration services for incoming YourPace students coordinating with faculty in the academic departments to stay current with degree program requirements and degree progress information. + Perform follow-up outreach to unresponsive students. + Respond to student issues or concerns and involve administration when necessary. + Coordinate with Director of YourPace Student Success and Executive Director of YourPace: + Understand all University policies and procedures regarding Credit for Prior Learning (CPL). + Engage students in the development of a Degree Completion Plan. + Educate students regarding university and academic policies and procedures and assist students with relevant academic actions and procedures, including student self-service in MaineStreet. Position Requirements: + Basic computer skills including the simultaneous use of multiple software applications such as Microsoft Office suite, Google applications and communication technology (e.g., Zoom). + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, relevant experience in admissions, tutoring, counseling, customer service or sales. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). + Attention to detail and the ability to multitask. + For remote or hybrid work + Proof of a stable, reliable internet connection of not less than 25mbps is required. Hotspots are not acceptable for this position. + A dedicated workspace that is free from distractions, allows for private phone and Zoom conversations with students and maintains respect for confidentiality according to policy and FERPA regulations is required. This space must also accommodate a full workstation that includes 2 monitors, docking stations and other necessary equipment. + Annual completion of a Remote Work Agreement Form. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to provide excellent customer service; Maintain confidentiality; Exceptionally strong listening, written and verbal communication skills;. An outgoing, positive, professional manner; strong listening, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to connect, motivate, and inspire people; perseverance; attention to detail; excellent organizational skills; ability to relate to a diverse pool of prospective students with tact, diplomacy and discretion; ability to manage multiple projects; flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team; and computer literacy required. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Gmail and recruitment software preferred. Related sales or marketing experience preferred.
