PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Yard Jockey moves trucks and trailers around in loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:        

Move tractor trailer trucks and trailers around yard to load and unloadSpot incoming trucks, relaying information to dockAssist with unloading an loading trucks as needed to help product flow to and from processing planttIdentify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementationWear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culturePerform additional relevant duties as assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

High School diplomas or equivalent preferredCDL License in good standingDOT certificationForklift certifiable

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Experience in driving tractor trailerBasic math and computer skillsMust have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multi-lingual strongly preferredAbility to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring confidential information is relayed only on a need-to-know basisExcellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detailMust possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)Ability to stand for an 8 hour shiftWill be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
