The Vice President - Settlement Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the settlement operations within JPMWS (J.P. Morgan Wealth Management Services). This role is pivotal in ensuring that all settlement activities meet regulatory requirements, enhance customer experience, and drive transformation initiatives. The VP will also have oversight of custody partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the settlement team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance settlement operations and align with organizational goals. Customer Experience: Ensure that settlement processes are customer-centric, efficient, and deliver a superior customer experience. Collaborate with customer service teams to address and resolve any settlement-related issues promptly. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all settlement activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to processes and policies. Transformation Initiatives: Drive transformation projects aimed at improving settlement processes, leveraging technology and innovation. Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk. Oversight of Custody Partners: Manage relationships with JPMWS custody partners, ensuring alignment with service level agreements and performance standards. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of custody partners to ensure compliance and operational excellence. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with settlement operations. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the organization’s assets and reputation. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless settlement operations. Represent the settlement function in cross-functional meetings and projects. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on settlement performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement. Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for enhancement.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Industry or relevant professional certification is preferred. Extensive experience in settlement operations, with a proven track record of leadership at a senior level. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to settlement and custody operations. Demonstrated experience in driving transformation initiatives and process improvements. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
