Workplace Experience Maintenance Technician

The Workplace Experience Maintenance Technician will provide cost effective physical facilities support to contribute to a productive and safe work environment for Siemens employees.

Major Responsibilities (include % of time):

Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical and control systems, which can include HVAC (heating, ventilation, AC), plumbing, electrical, audio-visual and fire safety systems. Some work may be done directly, some may need contact/contract with providers. Technician would report need for provider with Facilities Manager, but then handle service calls, monitoring providers, and report any issues to RFM. % of time: 50 - 70Provide efficient customer service both proactively and in response to requests in the areas of maintenance and facilities services which can include logistics, conference room set-up, conference resources, office moves and furniture placement. % of time: 10Lead or backup Audio/Video support for a defined geography. Handle AV questions, light training, and provide on-hand meeting support for the Teleconferencing system in addition to responding to emergency meeting support calls when necessary. % of time: 0 - 10Assist in monitoring HVAC system performance and activity via web based tool. Respond to customer requests regarding work environment HVAC issues to provide office comfort. Respond to requests for repair and maintenance. % of time: 0 - 10May track and trend environmental operational characteristics for datacenters via a web-based monitoring system. Investigate and/or respond to alarm conditions when temperature or power threshold limits have been reached. % of time: 0 - 10Assist to ensure all code compliance for area of responsibility; meet with the code officials (fire, building, etc.) to address concerns and report any concerns to Facilities Mgmt. % of time: 0 - 5

Scope:

Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.A highly skilled specialist required to complete tasks using resourceful and effective methods. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.Local to regional responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Training or certification in appropriate field, possibly by associate level or even bachelors degree.Deep understanding of mechanical, building infrastructure concepts and/or other area of technical expertise.Working knowledge of internet and computer skills.Relates to others in an open and accepting manner and develops relationships with others as a key priority.Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizes that verbal communication is more than just a language --it includes tone, style and structure.Outside of the US: Fluent in 2 languages required, English plus another European Language native to the site location.

The hourly range for this position is $26.53 to $47.78 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
