Workflow Configurator and Monitoring Engineer
Job Description A large university if looking for a skilled Workflow Configuration Specialist to manage and optimize the transfer of files across various systems within their organization. They will configurr, monitor, and troubleshoot workflows that have been designed to ensure the efficient, secure, and reliable transfer of batch files. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with file transfer protocols, workflow automation tools, and data security best practices. Key Responsibilities: · Manage File Transfer: Lead end-to-end MFT processes in planning, scheduling, and execution. · Batch Job Scheduling and Monitoring: Develop and maintain a comprehensive batch job scheduling system, ensuring the timely execution of scheduled jobs, and monitoring for successful completion. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during batch job execution. · Integration and Automation: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate file transfer and batch job scheduling processes with existing systems and applications. · Security and Compliance: Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations during file transfers. Implement and enforce best practices to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments. · Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end- users and stakeholders for file transfer and batch job scheduling-related issues. Investigate and resolve any problems, system errors, or performance bottlenecks that may arise. Continuously monitor file transfer processes for any failures or delays. Proactively troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions. · Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of file transfer processes, batch job schedules, configurations, automation projects and troubleshooting procedures. Generate reports on system performance, job completion rates, and any issues or incidents encountered through Splunk and ServiceNow. Skills Design and Configure Workflows: Develop and maintain automated workflows to streamline and manage file transfers between systems, ensuring seamless and timely data movement. Skills and Requirements Top Skills Experience in managed file transfer protocols and technologies such as SFTP, SSH, SSL, and HTTPS. Understanding of batch job scheduling concepts, tools, and frameworks such as Airflow, Control-M, Rocket Zena, Cron. Solid knowledge of scripting languages such as shell scripting, Python, SQL Familiarity with PGP encryption and SFTP/SSH encryption algorithms, data security, and compliance standards Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to file transfers and batch job execution.
