This position provides Clubhouse facilitation services to persons with acquired brain injury by assisting Members to work productively in one of five Clubhouse Work Units (Culinary & Nutrition, Maintenance & Horticulture, Communications, Community Resources, and BeechTree). As part of the transdisciplinary team, helps design and implement interventions from the Individual Rehab Service Plan that will lead to successful productive daily activity for every Member of the Clubhouse. This work unit coordinator is also responsible for supervising Clubhouse Members from the Culinary & Nutrition Work Unit on trips to local stores to purchase groceries and kitchen supplies used for cooking/baking/preparing food. Responsible for keeping the Clubhouse kitchen and dry goods closet in compliance with the health codes of the Bucks County Department of Health in order to maintain our commercial kitchen and dining license. Monitors the temperatures of the Clubhouse’s food, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher. Responsible for supervising Clubhouse Members from the Culinary & Nutrition Work Unit on trips to local stores to purchase groceries and kitchen supplies used for cooking/baking/preparing food Responsible for preparing/cooking nutritional lunches for Clubhouse Members and staff on a daily basis. Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the Clubhouse dining tables, tableware, kitchen equipment, and countertops in a manner that follows Buck’s County Department of Health codes. Oversees the maintenance of the Clubhouse coffee station and hot beverage bar. Responsible for planning lunch menus that includes well balanced nutritional meals. Provides food and beverages for the Clubhouse’s monthly Membership parties and special events. Prepares bake goods for Clubhouse fundraising and its charity interests. Develops work for the Members of the Culinary & Nutrition Work Unit, evaluates skills necessary for performing that work, and breaks work down into components that each Member can perform. Provides skills training using job coaching principles and techniques to each Member assigned in that Work Unit so they can do the work of that Work Unit. Utilizes cognitive, behavioral, and physical rehabilitation techniques as well as task analysis in doing work facilitation. Facilitates all Members in the production of Clubhouse work, recognizing that for some Members, this can be a life-long productive daily living activity, and for others it is a stepping stone to obtaining competitive employment. Functions as a part of a continuum of services which provides comprehensive rehabilitation strategies to develop appropriate work-related skills and behaviors that will enhance employability. Facilitates Members’ interpersonal skills to enable positive social interactions, including developing strategies for effective negotiation and healthy conflict resolution, in order to improve quality of relationships in residential, recreational, and work settings. Determines the need for environmental modifications, adaptive equipment and compensatory strategies including assistive technology and assists in obtaining and implementing these adaptations with emphasis on Members being able to maximize their performance in the Clubhouse. Responsible for the weekly monitoring and documentation of Member activities in the Clubhouse. Contributes to the development of an individual’s goals and objectives in their RSP/ISP. Collects data and documents on goals and objectives and gives feedback on performance. Supports other Work Unit Coordinators by providing coverage for their Work Units when needed. Builds relationships with entities in the community and maintains positive community and customer relationships. Work hours may require evening and weekend availability for time-limited periods, to support Clubhouse evening and weekend activities. Directs LSTs who are assigned to work with Clubhouse Members, teaching them the strategies each Member needs to utilize to produce work, and observes their work with Members. Maintains effective working relationships with all levels of the organization as well as with community organizations. Performs other duties, as assigned. Has knowledge of acquired brain injury and is able to demonstrate effective cognitive and rehabilitation techniques with Members. Demonstrates basic knowledge of licensing and accreditation regulations to assure a safe and healthy environment for all Members. Bachelors Degree in Human Services field. Certification in Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) Eligible 1 to 2 years work experience in human service field required. Brain Injury Experience preferred. Must have own transportation and a valid driver’s license. Proof of valid automobile insurance submitted annually. Must complete Smith Driving Training Course. Must complete and pass ServSafe Certification. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
