WHS Business Partner Full time permanent role - 3 days at War Memorial Hospital - Waverley and 2 days at other metro Uniting facilities

Role Purpose: Join Uniting’s mission to create a safer, healthier, and happier workplace as a WHS Business Partner. As the lead at War Memorial Hospital (WMH), you'll be pivotal in developing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing our safety practices. You'll partner with Senior Executive Management, line Managers, and all employees at WMH, providing expert advice, coaching, and support on a range of Work Health and Safety (WHS) strategies, legislation, policy, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Advisory: Provide consistent and visible leadership in WHS behaviours and actions, and counsel WMH Executive Management on WHS/IM matters. Safety Culture Development: Lead and advise on specialist WHS and IM, promoting a proactive preventative safety culture. Policy & Procedure Management: Review, develop, implement, and maintain WHS policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with key stakeholders to offer tailored services covering manual handling, injury management, workers compensation, and WHS risk management. Incident Management: Conduct incident investigations using the ICAM methodology, and solve day-to-day health and safety issues. Training & Development: Develop and deliver WHS training, guiding leaders to provide safe working environments and ensuring staff are properly trained. Emergency Preparedness: Support emergency and fire response coordination across the WMH campus, ensuring appropriate safety systems and processes are in place. Assurance Activities: Conduct inspections, audits, and other governance activities to support the maturity of the Safety Management System (SMS). Data Management: Maintain records and data sets to report on safety performance metrics. Operational Support: Assist WHS Business Partners with operational duties, including workplace modifications and non-work-related injury matters.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in health or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent experience; Certificate IV in OHS or equivalent;  Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Internal Auditor Certification, ICAM lead investigator training desirable NSW current drivers license

Skills and Experience:

3-5 years of experience in the WHS industry or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Organised, systematic, thorough, and accurate. Self-motivated, disciplined, and proactive. Ability to contribute to a supportive team culture. Open to continuous improvement and ongoing development. Innovative problem-solving abilities. Strong Microsoft skills (Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) at an intermediate level or higher.
