The Word Processing Supervisor will oversee the operations of the word processing department, managing a team of word processors. They will ensure the production of high-quality documents, provide guidance and training to staff, and monitor the efficiency and accuracy of work. This role involves assigning tasks, reviewing documents for errors, and recommending procedural improvements to enhance productivity.
Essential Duties
Supervise and manage a team of word processors. Ensure the production of high-quality client documents, including financial statements. Participate in the creation, editing, and formatting of financial statements using MS Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat with speed and accuracy. Assign tasks, review documents for errors, and provide feedback to staff. Develop and maintain department processes to ensure productivity and accuracy. Update Report Control Spreadsheets and all databases required to track work products. Provide guidance and training to staff to improve their skills and performance. Monitor workloads and assess staff capability to prioritize and delegate tasks. Contribute to technical improvements, such as creating templates and data entry protocols, to improve efficiency. Ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree a plus. 3-5 years of progressive experience working as a word processor required. Experience in a supervisory role preferred. Experience working in a mid-size regional public accounting firm or a professional services firm required. Willingness and ability to work in the NYC office 2 days/week and to work extended hours during peak periods. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. In-depth knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and relevant software packages. Experience with Engagement a plus. Experience processing, proofreading and formatting documents. Excellent spelling, grammar, and typing skills (65 WPM or more) and ability to recognize and correct errors. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proven ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changing circumstances and priorities. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, including strong time-management abilities. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist colleagues as needed. Capable of taking direction from a variety of individuals including Partners, managers and other administrative professionals. High degree of professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.We are interested in all qualified candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States. The compensation for this position ranges from $60,000 - $85,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
