Job Description

Do you have wire harness building experience within the Aerospace or Aviation industries? Would you enjoy working with a quickly evolving, exciting, innovative start-up company? The wire harness assembly technician will support all wire harness and cable assembly for the Assembly/Production department. You will work on a manufacturing team of 15-20, building the product's large industrial wire harnesses from scratch, start to finish. These harnesses are most similar to those found in Aviation or Aerospace assemblies and include D399 connectors, so experience within these industries is heavily preferred. This role requires the ability to read and interpret a drawing and create the harness versus having a completed schematic. An ideal candidate has a passion for mechanical projects and problem-solving, with a positive attitude. Experience working in a start-up and/or manufacturing environment is a plus.

ResponsibilitiesSupport all wire harness and cable assembly for the Assembly/Production department.Build large industrial wire harnesses from scratch, start to finish.Work with D399 connectors, common in Aviation/Aerospace assemblies.Read and interpret drawings to create harnesses without a formal schematic.Collaborate with a manufacturing team of 15-20 members.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2+ years of recent experience with building harnesses for Aviation or Aerospace assemblies or Boat assemblies.IPC-620 certification or experience with D399 connectors.Experience with cutting, crimping, and labeling wires.Proficiency with mechanical and electrical assembly tools, including torque wrenches, crimpers, cutting tools, and basic hand tools.Ability to interpret a drawing to create a complex wire harness from scratch.Confident communicator and problem-solver with the ability to work within ambiguity.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in the stages of a start-up company.Hobbies that include working on mechanical projects.Proficiency in Microsoft applications.Ability to lift 50+ lbs.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

We offer 1st shift (7 am-3:30 pm) and 2nd shift (3 pm-11:30 pm) openings. The assembly shop and corporate headquarters offices are climate-controlled. Our culture is very friendly, driven, and collaborative.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $38.00
