Focus: This role coordinates Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and safety regulations (intrastate/interstate) by managing and overseeing Winchester and White Flyer fleet operations.
Transportation Fleet Specialist Essential Functions:
Manages six vendor portals for electronic logging device (ELD), camera reporting, fuel/mileage tax reporting, fuel cards, tolls, and fleet portals. Monitors drivers’ hours of service (HOS), performance, incidents, and events. Manages annual vehicle maintenance and insurance registrations, inspections, and required documentation. Weekly/monthly creation of safety meeting topics and compliance training. Assists with investigations of company vehicle accidents and in determining root causes.Creates policies and procedures for fleet management, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and DOT compliance. The point of contact for all vendor management, support for plant managers, and resolution of internal/external open items. Implements strategies for cost-saving projects.Transportation Fleet Specialist Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree*; Logistics, Transportation, or equivalent discipline preferred. Minimum four years of experience managing a fleet of vehicles, FMSCSA rules, and DOT compliance regulations (intrastate/interstate). Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred.Familiarity with production processes within a manufacturing environment preferred.Valid driver's license.Must posses excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), organizational, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts.Approximately 10% travel.Location-Specific Requirements:
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
