We are seeking a dynamic and skilled WiFi & Bluetooth Technologist to lead and drive the integration and optimization of WiFi and Bluetooth systems in General Motors vehicles. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Technical Expertise and Leadership:
Serve as the subject matter expert on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards, chipsets, and system integration.Own and maintain vehicle-level Wi-Fi and Bluetooth engineering specifications.Develop and manage technical roadmaps for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipsets, ensuring alignment with industry trends and project goals.System Development and Integration:
Lead integration of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth systems into vehicles, ensuring compatibility with platforms like Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto.Design and optimize hardware, protocol stacks, and co-existence strategies for robust performance.Testing and Debugging:
Define and implement test methodologies, metrics, and Wi-Fi performance evaluation processes.Conduct root cause analysis and resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance challenges.Ensure Wi-Fi performance meets engineering specifications.Collaboration and Coordination:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, QA) for seamless system integration.Work with chipset vendors to align on roadmap and feature developments.Co-Existence Management:
Develop strategies to manage Wi-Fi and Bluetooth co-existence, minimizing interference and optimizing performance.Additional Job DescriptionWhat You'll Need (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.10+ years of industry experience in WiFi and Bluetooth technologies.Proven hands-on experience in WiFi & Bluetooth hardware and protocol stack development.Extensive knowledge of WiFi & Bluetooth performance testing, metrics, and analysis.Hands on experience with test equipment (Protocol Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators etc.)Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of WiFi and Bluetooth standards, chipset technologies, and co-existence strategies.Strong expertise in test methodologies, debugging tools, and performance analysis techniques.Familiarity with vehicle-level wireless system integration and performance testingExperience with analytical tools (i.e., MATLAB).People Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.Strong communication skills for collaboration across teams and stakeholder management.Ability to lead and drive technical initiatives with minimal supervision.What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in automotive WiFi and Bluetooth system integration and deployment.Knowledge of IoT, connected vehicles, and wireless communication standards.Familiarity with regulatory compliance and testing for wireless communication systems.Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
The salary range for this role is $168,000 to $2,800. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
