The Windstream team provides innovative software and network solutions to connect people and empower business in a world of infinite possibilities! **_________________________________________________________** **About this Role:** The Wholesale Accounting team oversees some of Windstream’s largest cash costs. The Accountant I is a vital role that overseas monthly variance analysis and reconciliation of wholesale expenses including monthly recurring and non-recurring product license fee costs and plays a critical role in delivering accurate reporting and collaborating regularly with the Access team, Financial Planning team, and various other organizations within Windstream. **What You’ll Do:** + Preparation of General Ledger entries and reconciliations as required for a timely month-end close. + Detailed review, analysis, preparation, and presentation of balance sheet and income statement results. + Preparation and analysis of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including resolution of outstanding items. + Assist in coordination of the internal and external audit process. + Assist in the documentation and monitoring of internal controls. + Work closely with Access and Financial Planning to ensure accruals, deferrals, and are accurately and fairly presented. + Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: + Confirm accounting records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies and legal agreements / contracts. + Assis on special projects as needed.Overtime at various points throughout the month should be expected. **Do You Have:** + Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance. + Must be proficient with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience in JD Edwards and Strategy is desirable, but not required. + The successful candidate will be inquisitive, take initiative, and have a solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls. + Position requires strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. + Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Commitments to excellence and high standards. + Flexible and enthusiastic. **Physical Tasks** - Standing Occasionally: 0-33% | Walking Occasionally: 0-33% |Sitting and Stationary: Continuously: 67-100% | Bending: Occasionally: 0-33% | Crouching: Occasionally: 0-33% | Carrying: Occasionally: 0-33% | Reaching: Occasionally: 0-33% |Lifting -Lowering >1-15 lbs: Occasionally: 0-33% | Repetitive Hand Action: Medium Dexterity: Continuously: 67-100% | Fine Manipulating: Frequently: 34-66% **Audio Visual Needs** - Hearing: Continuously: 67-100%| Near Vision: Continuously: 67-100% | Far Vision: Occasionally: 0-33% | Peripheral Vision: Occasionally: 0-33% **Equipment Used in Job Performance** : Computer, Printer, Fax, Telephone, Basic Office Supplies, Copier The starting compensation range for this job is $43,500 to $53,800. **_________________________________________________________** **Our Benefits:** + Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance Plans + 401K Plan + Health & Flexible Savings Account + Life and AD&D, Spousal Life, Child Life Insurance Plans + Educational Assistance Plan + Identity Theft, Legal, Auto & Home and Pet Insurance + https://windstreambenefits.com **Windstream CIB Statement:** Connecting people in a world of infinite possibilities.
