Provide clinical assessment, short-term psychotherapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention to the student population at NYU Tulsa (Tulsa, OK); build close working relationships with external mental health providers (including psychiatrists) and other medical professionals from whom NYU Tulsa students seek care; liaise with faculty and administrators to best serve the mental health needs of NYU Tulsa students; in consultation with the Director of Counseling & Wellness Services based in NYU New York, establish policies and procedures related to the provision of mental health services at NYU Tulsa; work with other student affairs professionals at NYU Tulsa who are responsible for other aspects of student health including ensuring immunization compliance of the NYU Tulsa student population; create and deliver health promotion and orientation programming related to health and mental health at NYU Tulsa for faculty, staff, and students; manage students' questions related to their global health insurance and liaise with insurance vendor representatives. This position includes direct clinical care to students. Clinical work will be in areas including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, homicidal ideation, acculturation stress, acute stress, culture shock, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, interpersonal conflicts, substance abuse, PTSD, eating disorders, sexual misconduct, etc. This position includes the training of faculty, staff, and administration. This position requires being available for 24-hour emergency on-call coverage.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Doctoral Degree PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology

Or

Masters or PhD in Social Work

Or

Masters in Mental Health Counseling


Required Experience:
3+ years

Preferred Experience:
5+ years Experience with diverse student populations Experience treating substance misuse and eating disorders Experience using skills based interventions (DBT, CBT, MI, ACT, etc.)

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to be on call overnights and weekends Ability to conduct suicide / risk assessments Ability to gather and report information accurately, clearly, and concisely Strong organizational skills Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Excellent written & oral skills

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to develop safety plans with students at risk

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $60,000.00 to USD $70,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
