Welfare Assistant

The Headteacher and Governors at Darnhall Primary School are seeking to appoint a welfare assistant to support children in our special needs class.  

Our wonderful school has grown rapidly over the last few years – doubling in size to over 400 gorgeous children! The school is a happy, vibrant and caring environment with a warm and welcoming feel. The successful candidate will be a friendly and dedicated practitioner who has a real passion for developing young minds. They will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents/carers and the wider school community and will have a commitment to the well-being, safeguarding and development of the child in their care.

The role consists of but is not limited to; working as a key person, carrying out observations and assessments, work in partnership with parents/carers, offer an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences, ensure that children are kept safe and that you understand when to follow child protection procedures, to actively participate at team meetings, to attend training courses as required and to take responsibility for your development, to be aware of and adhere to all the setting’s operational policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have basic maths and literacy skills. They should have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the early years’ and KS1 curriculum.
