If you are a Welding Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will apply knowledge of welding processes, welding design, metallurgy, nondestructive and destructive testing, and welding quality control to support Product Teams’ welding activities.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Serve as the site weld coordinator by applying metallurgy/welding experience and industry standards to develop and deploy defined programs. Collaborate with functional groups at multiple manufacturing sites to promote global product manufacturing consistency. Identify any health or safety concerns related to welding equipment or technology. Recognizes precautions to avoid potential injury. Oversee Welding Procedure and Personnel Qualifications Ensure processes and quality systems meet program requirements. Interact frequently with suppliers and vendors on welding/metallurgy properties to resolve product quality concerns. Support site NDT requirements. Participate in the qualification and documentation of new or changed products, process, and purchased materials. Who You Are: You come up with useful ideas that are new, better, or unique. • Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering from an engineering school
• Four (4) years or more of relevant experience including welding procedure development and qualifications, welder performance qualifications, laser beam welding (LBW), equipment selection and set-up, welding design, and manufacturing
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
• ABET-accredited engineering degree
• Experience with manual and automatic welding process, including GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), LBW (laser beam welding) and resistance welding
• Experience with NDT to include visual testing, dye penetrant testing and digital radiography
• Experience with ASME and ISO welding qualification standards
• International Welding Engineer, AWS Certified Welding Engineer, AWS CWI, or NDT certifications

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $95,000-$119,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
