Welder/Production Manager
Overview

Hire resolve client seeks a dedicated Welder / Production Manager to join our team in the steel industry. This dual-role position involves managing production processes and leading welding projects to ensure high-quality execution in container conversions. The ideal candidate will oversee the project lifecycle from planning to completion, ensuring resource allocation, team supervision, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Project & Resource Management

Develop project plans and manage resources to meet goals and timelines. Coordinate and supervise on-site project teams and ensure project targets are met. Track and manage project consumables effectively.

Fabrication & Welding

Fabricate and assemble metal structures using various welding techniques. Operate welding equipment in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, ensuring quality and safety. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to complete welding tasks.

Team Supervision & Leadership

Supervise, motivate, and manage team performance on-site. Maintain and submit accurate timesheets and attendance records. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and production standards.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

Regularly update clients on project progress and address any issues or concerns. Submit progress reports to senior management.

Safety & Compliance

Conduct site inspections and manage safety files, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations. Inspect machinery and equipment, confirming they are in safe working condition.

Requirements:

Education: Matric Certificate or equivalent; Production Management qualification preferred. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in welding, site supervision, or project management, particularly within the steel industry. Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of the steel industry and welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings. Effective organizational, time management, and leadership skills. Proficiency in report writing and administrative tasks. Excellent communication skills with a focus on team motivation and safety compliance.
