**Job Title: Welder**
**Job Description**
The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Plan details of work order procedures; gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
+ Operate manual and automated welding units and equipment utilizing wire feed welding techniques.
+ Repair and fabricate various items and equipment using blueprints, measuring devices, cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
+ Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
+ Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
+ Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
+ Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
+ Conduct quality control evaluations on completed welds.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with wire feed welding (1-4 years)
+ Experience in steel and aluminum welding
+ 1-3 years of fabrication with welding and layout experience
+ Experience with hydraulics and mechanical systems
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Completion of a formal apprenticeship, welding program, or successful completion of a three-year in-company training program
+ 1-3 years of mechanical experience with hydraulics (preferred)

**Work Environment**
Clean industrial shop that manufactures dump truck beds. Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead, and have enough manual dexterity and stability for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range, lift up to 50 pounds, and traverse facilities and machinery by bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, climbing, and standing for long periods. Comfortable intermittently working at heights of 8 feet, working in cramped workspaces, getting into awkward positions, and wearing specialized protective or safety equipment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Snohomish, Washington.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
