Job Description
We are seeking skilled welders to join our team and take on welding and fabrication responsibilities for Naval Submarines. While certification is not required, candidates must pass a welding test to receive an offer.
ResponsibilitiesReceive instructions, prints, and work orders for the job.Must be able to obtain a secret clearancePlan details of working procedures, tools, and material requirements.Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.Repair equipment using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions using FCAW, GMAW, TMAW, etc.Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.Set up, assemble, and tack weld parts.Build up worn or defective surfaces.Use burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut material to size and shape.Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness and orderliness.Weld parts to form complete units or subunits.Follow blueprints and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.Essential SkillsExperience in welding, primarily using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW).Ability to read blueprints to build out the two shapes being fabricated.Proficiency in using blueprints and welding tools for proper layout.Completion of all welds correctly for inspections.Skills in fitting, structure, grinding, and using a tape measure.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.89/hr.
