Description of Duties DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: a. Greets and refers individuals to appropriate staff or College services. b. Provides information and telephone switchboard service for East Campus utilizing the software/system located at the primary Welcome Desk on campus. c. Provides accurate general college information to individuals upon request; assists by referring to appropriate staff. d. Coordinates schedule of student workers to ensure coverage of Welcome Center and phone lines during regular campus hours. e. Provides switchboard training to the Welcome Center staff. f. Communicates new or updated information to co-workers. g. Creates and maintains job aids specific to Welcome Center functions. h. Provides word processing and other clerical duties as needed. i. Performs opening and/or closing procedures. DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES: a. Receives and routes East Campus Facilities work orders. b. Calls students for notification of class cancellations and other information as appropriate c. Resolves and logs vendor machine disputes. d. Maintains confidentiality of information collected and distributed. e. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. f. Responsible for neat and clean work area. OVERALL ACOUNTIBILITIES: a. Ability to communicate in a pleasant manner with employees, students, vendors, and the general public. PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: a. Works directly and cooperatively with the Administrative Assistant to the VP for Instruction and Student Services. b. Works directly and cooperatively with the Director of Operations. c. Works cooperatively with all College personnel. d. Works directly with College employees, current and prospective students, and the general public. Education & Experience EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.) a. High school diploma or recognized equivalent required. Some college preferred. b. At least one year of telephone system and office experience preferred. c. Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. d. Must be dependable, courteous, and able to meet/work with diverse populations. e. At least a basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
