Web Developer II
Job Description:Web Development and Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including graphic designers and IT staff, to ensure successful implementation of web projects by defining technical requirements and clarifying project scope. Work closely with project managers to ensure development goals align with business objectives, stakeholder needs, and UX/UI best practices. Engage with department liaisons to incorporate design and technical requirements for projects. Participate in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation, providing technical input and documentation to support the success of web development projects. Assist in establishing UX/UI standards and guidelines that support UF Research web projects.
Technology Solution Development and Implementation
Translate design concepts, stakeholder requirements, and UX/UI specifications into technical specifications that are scalable, sustainable, and user-friendly. Focus on PHP programming, WordPress development, and web server maintenance to ensure solutions integrate effectively with existing systems and align with the overall UF Research web strategy. Conduct system testing and usability validation to ensure implemented web solutions meet the documented requirements and provide ongoing support for enhancements and updates.
Web Process Optimization and Support
Analyze existing web processes to identify areas for improvement, emphasizing user experience optimization. Develop recommendations to optimize website performance, security, and usability. Lead efforts in implementing improvements to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruptions, working with stakeholders to manage expectations. Provide ongoing support for system maintenance and enhancements, monitoring the impact of changes on web operations and user satisfaction.

Salary commensurate with experience and expertise
Minimum Requirements:A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an Associate Degree and four years of appropriate experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Operations Management, or Business Administration, two years of appropriate experience, or an associate’s degree and four years of appropriate experience.
Experience using project management software like Microsoft Project, Atlassian’s Jira, or Basecamp.
Proficiency in UX/UI design principles, including wireframing, prototyping, and user testing tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
Experience with customer service practices and user-centered design.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and experience designing and developing accessible web interfaces.
Experience with customer service practices.
Familiarity with industry best practices in web development, UX/UI, and accessibility.
