WDI Landscape Architecture Intern, Summer/Fall 2025

The approximate date of this internship is **June 2025 to January 2026** and will be located in either **Glendale, CA** or **Orlando, FL** **What You Will Do** We are looking for a Landscape Architecture intern to join our team responsible for landscape architecture including hardscape, grading, planting, irrigation, water and other specialty features; special studies; and the integration of architecture, civil engineering, structural elements, lighting, graphics and utilities for the facility/attraction, land, or theme park project! As an intern on the team you will have the opportunity to: + Support the project team with design and implementation of design intent for assigned projects + Prepare Area Development site plan documentation + Provide design documentation in the form of illustrative renderings, image/color boards, color + Provide research and analysis on assigned projects + Perform various basic technical tasks and documentation, including base sheets, construction details, conceptual grading, hardscape plans/sections/elevations, planting design drafting, 3D visualization + Develop varied landscape architectural project work at all stages of assigned projects from concept, feasibility or schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation in accordance with established departmental and divisional quality standards + Ensure that the area development intent is achieved by successfully integrating hardscape and landscape designs with the work of allied teams and components of the area development such as: infrastructure, architecture, civil engineering, lighting, graphics, structural engineering, irrigation, etc. + Prepare specific deliverables including, but not limited to: conceptual studies, construction documents, visual intrusion studies, material schedules, etc; + Ensure adherence to department/divisional Standards of Practice + Coordinate and communicate area development design issues within the area development project team + Support implementation of project goals/objectives through problem-solving and development of design solutions **Required Qualifications & Skills** + Working knowledge and experience in the use of plant and hardscape materials and products for thematic applications + Demonstrated thoughtful design, artistic skills and professional judgment in solving complex area development problems + Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D and digital illustration tools such as Photoshop and InDesign. Working knowledge/skills in 3D software tools: Rhino, SketchUp, Twinmotion or Lumion. + Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment + Knowledge of landscape architecture design principles and construction techniques + Knowledge of related areas, including architecture, land planning, civil engineering, site lighting, graphic design, etc. + Construction field site experience **Education** Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a Landscape Architecture from an accredited program. **Eligibility Requirements & Program Information** Candidates for this opportunity **MUST** meet all of the below requirements: + Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship + Be at least 18 years of age + Possess unrestricted work authorization + Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. **Additional Information** + Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work + Must be fully available for the duration of the internship + Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship in Glendale, CA + We provide limited housing opportunities for Florida Based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities, for more information click here **Materials Required** A portfolio review is required for this position.
