The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Wave Planner to join our Distribution center team in Memphis TN. The Wave Planner will be responsible for creating and managing wave plans to optimize the flow of inventory and ensure efficient order fulfillment. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail , and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

This position is in Memphis, TN.

The Responsibilities

Measure and monitor capacity to process outbound delivery orders and notify operations managements of any gaps.

Develop, analyze, modify and execute the Wave Plan to confirm ship schedules are met for all customers while maintaining a level workload of activity across all shifts.

Completes the waves in warehouse management system to include fixing wave shortages.

Prioritize daily schedule and create reports as needed to monitor, track and measure performance at all levels.

Work closely with inventory teams to ensure inventory integrity when replacement product is needed to fill orders.

Assist outbound associates in resolving issues with orders by answering questions, investigating problems and coordinating with other functional groups as needed.

Provide basic information to CS in order to meet customer requirements, follow up order statuses and provide swift and correct feedback.   

The Individual

Required:

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum of 2 years experience in a distribution center.

Advanced computer skills including ability to accurately enter data, run reports and investigate issues.

Able to independently complete routine and moderately complex assignments that require critical thinking, troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Basic math skills for proper inventory and record-keeping.   

Preferred:

Previous experience as a  wave planner is a plus.

Key Working Relationships

Internal Partners:  Customer Service, Planning, Leadership and North America Supply Chain

External Partners:  Customers, Carrier, Freight Forwarders, Suppliers

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a warehouse environment and include the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and be able to lift 50lbs.  The ability to work in 3 different temperatures: ambient, cooler (approximately 40 degrees), and freezer (approximately -20 degrees).  Use of PPE required for the job task (vest, steel toed shoes, body harness, gloves, etc.).  Up to 25% travel – Domestic and/or International.
