Water/Wastewater Operator I

We are looking for a Water/Wastewater Operator in our Ebensburg plant.

The Water/Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating machinery, pumps and related equipment in water and wastewater treatment facilities.  Seeking a candidate willing to learn and grow in our industry.  We are willing to train and develop the needed skills to assure success.  This position will rotate between the water treatment facility, wastewater treatment facility, and outlying stations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates a variety of equipment/machinery including: chemical feed equipment, valves, pumps, motors, belt presses, disinfection equipment, vehicles, etc.Conducts routine testing, monitoring and maintenance of production wells, water/wastewater unit processes and basic laboratory analyses.Performs and documents treatment process and maintenance of treatment facility equipment. Documents plant performance including daily flow, electrical and chemical usage, dosage, and other data as required.Responds to call outs and after-hours emergencies to repair treatment equipment, pumps, motors, sensing devices, instrumentation and electrical support.Ensures facilities are clean, neat and secure.Provides customer service functions when necessary.Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner while maintaining compliance.Other duties as assigned.Willing to obtain water/wastewater licenseWilling to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED.

Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver’s License. Obtain Water/Wastewater Operator’s License (Class E) within 18 months.  Must obtain Class B water and wastewater Operators License within 4 years.  Other licenses may vary according to specific site and assignments. 

Technical: Ability to follow manual & operating instructions; Basic knowledge of water/wastewater facilities.  Basic proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office applications & internet.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: frequently lift 50-60 pounds; load, unload & move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.
