We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer with stormwater engineering expertise for our Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina office. 

We are in search of a highly motivated team member to join our team of engineers and scientists who has a strong quantitative skillset to support municipal and state clients in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast U.S., and nationally. This is an engaging and high impact position in which you will work closely with national industry leaders to support clients with stormwater management and design, green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, flood management, community and climate resiliency, and watershed management projects. In this position you will work as a team member to support routine and non-routine assignments related to engineering projects of substantial variety and complexity.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Support and/or lead municipal stormwater management projects which may include flood reduction, green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), climate resiliency, and nutrient reduction. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and watershed modeling using PC SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other modeling software Lead the design analysis through application of quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques for GSI and nature-based solutions Lead in the preparation of construction documents (plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid documents) with support from team Lead development and preparation of descriptive charts, figures/maps, and tables/matrices with support from team Perform detailed technical writing assignments to contribute to project documentation and deliverables such as memos and reports Assist with quality control and quality assurance reviews

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental/civil engineering (or a related field)  Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in the State of North Carolina with 5-10 years of relevant progressive stormwater engineering experience Excellent work experience showing strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills  Proficient in stormwater design, GSI watershed management, resiliency planning Experience with client presentations and communications; preferred experience with municipal clients Proficiency with H&H models, such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, PC SWMM, and knowledge of InfoWorks a plus but not required Proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D Familiarity with Bentley ORD (MicroStation) Desire to learn other design and modeling software programs and platforms Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Teams
