Are you looking for a fantastic career at Aqua? We have a great opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Manager under the direction of the President of Aqua NJ. This role will be responsible ensuring water and wastewater plants and systems are compliant with environmental regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Works in tandem with Compliance, Laboratory, Operations, and Engineering departments, as needed, to produce high-quality drinking water and wastewater effluent at the lowest cost and to solve treatment plant-related problems.  Works to assure environmental regulations are being met and provides technical experience where needed.Support Operational staff with all regulatory requirements and maintain working relationships with all FSR and operators.  Instill a culture of environmental compliance at all levels of the organization. Utilizes the SCADA Network and other computer monitoring systems to review treatment and water quality at all system locations, analyze computer generated data and respond effectively and in a timely fashion. Coordinates response with Supervisors, Facility Operators, and other personnel as needed.Compiles data, completes reports and analysis, and maintains records for compliance reporting purposes.Reviews/Submits all MORS, diversion/allocation, NJDEP forms and NJPDES forms.  Responsible for tracking and renewing all water and wastewater permits.Prepares LSL Inventories and Replacement Plans.  Coordinates all mailings to ensure regulations are met.Conducts and/or develops treatment studies, leads special projects, and acts as interdepartmental liaison to facilitate the exchange of physical equipment, information, and technical resources.Develop and/or maintain expertise in state and federal environmental rules and regulations and serve as a resource to Area Managers and other operations staff.Coordinate and attend all Regulatory Inspections.Adheres to all Aqua safety and health policies and procedures.Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or Biology.A minimum of 5 years’ full-time experience in the water and wastewater industry.Valid U.S. driver’s license.Possession of valid NJDEP water or wastewater operations licensure is highly desired.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Excellent written and verbal communications skills; communicate effectively (clearly, concisely, and professionally) with internal customers.Strong customer service skillsAbility to work well under pressure.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.A team player able to work effectively in a team fostered multi-tasking environment.  General knowledge of groundwater, and wastewater treatment and facilities required.Experience with NJDEP/EPA water or wastewater system inspections and/or actual experience working in drinking water or wastewater utility regulations is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Perform sedentary work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.Working conditions will include field travel to the various plants located across the state and work at the sites of Aqua, NJ.
