Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator
**Job Title: Yard Worker/Load Builder** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated Yard Worker/Load Builder to work outdoors year-round in a lumber yard. This role involves cleaning, yard maintenance, stocking, and assisting customers. Candidates will be certified to operate a forklift and will work towards becoming proficient in load building and inventory management. **Responsibilities** + Clean and maintain the yard + Stock inventory and assist customers + Load customers' vehicles and secure loads with strapping, bracing, or padding + Move inventory, assemble packages, stage orders, and build loads + Load trucks for delivery to customer job sites + Operate large sit-down propane or diesel forklifts (6k-11k lbs), hand trucks, dollies, etc. + Frequently enter and exit forklift cabs throughout the day **Essential Skills** + General labor experience + Understanding of construction materials + Experience working with lumber/trusses or in a lumber yard/mill + Ability to take direction and willingness to learn + Stable job history with steady employment + Capability to work long hours on their feet outdoors + Past driving experience (DOT/Non-CDL) is a plus + Prior experience in order pulling/staging, forklift operation, construction, pallet building, material handling, RF scanning, loading/unloading, order picking, production, customer service, landscaping, yard work, and using hand tools **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift experience preferred (ability to climb in and out of the cab and twist torso) + Comfortable using a circular saw or chop saw to cut wood + Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally + 2+ years of experience in a warehouse setting preferred + Prior lumber experience is a plus + Customer service skills for interacting with and loading customer trucks + Open to entry-level candidates willing to be trained **Why Work Here?** Join a large nationwide company with ample growth opportunities.
