**Overview**
**Sumter Utilities, Inc. (a Quanta Services company)** seeks a commercial vehicle technician for work in the Sumter, SC region/area. Successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience in mechanical support of a Commercial or Military Fleet, with preference given to experience maintaining & repairing construction-type vehicles/equipment.

Prior ASE Medium-Heavy Truck Certification (Tests T1-T8) is _preferred_ but not required. Active employees may be offered opportunity to obtain ASE Certification and will be required to maintain certification in CPR, First Aid and Forklift Operation.

**Responsibilities**
The employee is required to sit; frequently climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or maneuver up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or maneuver up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work is primarily performed outdoors so physical exposure to often extreme weather conditions, animals and insects and other outdoor hazards is unavoidable and required.
**Qualifications**
**Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field
+ Skilled in using computers and diagnostic software programs.
+ Experience in diesel engines, articulating booms (Buckets and Diggers), and mechanical systems.
+ Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Good communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical individuals.
+ Valid CDL (preferred) or driver's license with clean driving record and ability to operate various vehicles and equipment.
+ Physical ability to lift heavy parts and perform mechanical tasks.
