Warehouse Team Leader

To effectively supervise all logistics and warehousing operations in the organization to ensure all related areas and activities are optimized to achieve effective and efficient service to customers, both internal and external

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

Maintain effective warehouse management and inventory control systems to ensure material supply is always just in time and based on FIFO principle in accordance to daily production plans. Ensure that fruit bins material transfers are done according to FIFO principles. Ensure compliance with Warehouse work procedures and rules/regulations set out by management.Supervising / Motivation and control of warehouse staff.Optimization of warehouse throughput and lead times.Performance measurement  of warehouse  staff (Picks, Put-Aways, material transfers and material returns )Drive material loss reduction associated with Inventory control (Systematic transfers Vs Physical transfers)Maintain good housekeeping standards across the warehouse.Ensure that warehouse operations and relevant warehouse management systems are controlled to optimize warehouse throughput-Tekdan (WMS)  errors troubleshooting is done and managed on shift.Generate systematic documentation for all warehousing functions from Tekdan (WMS) system. Allocation of stock received into dedicated Storage areas (0108, 0100, 0102,0103,0104,0107 )Ensure that every pallet of stock received has SSCCs stickers pasted and correctly placed in bin locations.Perform  weekly cycle counts and share stock variances.Report on Inventory Discrepancies – Physical and systematic stock reconPerform stock extractions on Startrack and Tekdan (WMS)Ensure that stock systematic transfers are done in real-time.Ensure Returns are received, checked and put-away back into warehouse bin locations.Report on Warehouse capacity and utilization.

Food Safety and Quality

Ensure adherence to Food Safety and Quality principles as included in the policies, procedures, product specifications and processes. This also includes general Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene practices.

Identify and report any potential Food Safety & Quality and GMP deviations and hazards

 

Minimum Qualification:   
Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics or related field

Minimum Experience required & Skills  
Min 5 years experience in inventory management , with minimum 2 years at supervisory level 
Sound understanding of warehouse & Inventory management systems and processes. 
Ms Office Excel, Powerpoint and SAP experience.
