Warehouse Supervisor
Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor Department: Finance Reports To: Inventory Asset Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Full Time Grade: 15 Closing Date: OPEN UNTIL FILLED SUMMARY : Assists Inventory Asset Manager in Administration, management, and supervision of (9) workers. Accountable for managing, directing, organizing and oversee the functions of all activities performed by Warehouse Receiving Inventory Coordinator, Lead Warehouse maintenance workers, and Warehouse Maintenance Workers for compliance to policies and procedures. Responsible for the scheduling of maintenance, repair, and service of vehicles and all the industrial equipment for the transfer of goods and materials into warehouses. . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: + Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with our guests and fellow associates. + Plans layout of stockroom, warehouses, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. + Ensuring timely processing of paperwork from procurement, receipt, and tracking of all stock, material, and assets. + Ensuring that all stocks received comply with the quality standards of the organization. + Advises associates on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems. + Accounting and Reporting of inventory surplus, product returns, and any damages to appropriate parties. + Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock. + Tracks the transportation and distribution of Inventory. + Ensuring to meet deadlines for transfer of goods and materials. + Schedules work for special and periodic inventories. + Supervises the cycle counting. + Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. + Utilize and maintain barcode equipment and supplies. + Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. + Issues written and oral instructions. + Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. + Train and certify associates on the forklift operation and maintenance. + Operates delivery vehicles and/or equipment, and oversees preventative maintenance schedules. + Fire Warden responsibilities + Conducting forklift (industrial equipment) exercises, regular training and workshops for the staff. + Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. + Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates. + Adjusts errors and complaints. + Provides coverage for all hours of operation (7am to 5 pm Monday to Sunday) as needed. + Provides 24 hour response to operational emergencies + Individual is required to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a dynamic environment. Other duties as assigned by the Inventory Asset Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Directly supervises nine associates and season workers in the Warehouse Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully complete the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. + EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s or an associate degree in administration, logistics, material management, warehousing, supply chain or any related field of study. Experience of 3-4 years as a forklift operator. Proficient in computer operations sufficient to maintain inventory records, conduct research and communicate electronically. Work experience of at least 2-5 years in inventory management is an added advantage + LANGUAGE SKILLS: Above average skills required. Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, business correspondence and memorandums. Ability to write simple and complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to associates of the organization. + MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Above average skills required. Strong calculative and analytical skill sets. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. + REASONING ABILITY: Above average skills required. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. + ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITY: Excellent organizational skills required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must obtain and maintain a New York State certification and St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Class III Gaming License which requires an extensive background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Failure to disclose required information will result in rescinding the job offer. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions.
