Summary: Responsible for loading and unloading product on trucks and railcars.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following:
Review work orders to identify products to be loaded on correct trailers.Inventory trucks on lot for how many and whose trailers they are and match to drop list.Inspect forklift to ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance.Operate forklift to retrieve stock from warehouse and load on trailers and railcars.Monitor pallets and products for damage. Repair pallets if possible.Direct truck traffic in loading area.Move railcars into position for loading.Inspect trailers and railcars for cleanliness and notify owner if trailer does not pass inspection.Monitor pallets and products for damage.Plan the load.Load and unload pallets and products on railcars and box and flatbed trailers.Follow food-grade procedures to protect from contamination or theft during transit.Perform special handling as indicated in work order.Prepare paperwork to document work performed, identify exceptions and provide to shipping clerk for processing.Perform housekeeping as necessary.Inspect dock doors and plates for proper functioning.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Summary: Responsible for loading and unloading product on trucks and railcars.
