The Warehouse/Shipping Manager for our manufacturing facility is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of warehouse and shipping operations. This role ensures seamless movement of products to meet customer delivery demands. The manager is accountable for optimizing warehouse layouts, managing inventory accuracy, coordinating shipping logistics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery quality, productivity, and safety. The Warehouse/Shipping Manager collaborates cross-functionally with procurement, production, sales, and customer service teams to align operations with business objectives and exceed customer expectations.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations:
Define best practices for warehouse layout, workflows, and methods to streamline pick, pack, and ship operations.Oversee the movement and storage of finished goods inventory, ensuring accuracy in identification, location, and quantities (including off-site facilities).Manage off-site warehouse operations, coordinating transfers between locations and consolidating stock to minimize space requirements.Supervise the storage of finished goods and maintain accurate inventory balances through regular cycle counts and audits.Collaborate with customers and shipping carriers to maintain on-time deliveries and resolve shipping discrepancies.Optimize labor, equipment, and time to meet productivity goals and support on-time, in-full delivery (OTIF) metrics.Order packing supplies as needed to support upcoming jobs and minimize delays.Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Provide direction to warehouse, packing, and shipping teams to meet operational goals.Engage with employees daily to build team morale and drive productivity and quality standards.Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new team members, collaborating with HR to address ongoing labor needs.Partner with procurement, sales, customer service, and production teams to meet customer delivery requirements and maintain satisfaction.Process Improvement:
Design scalable processes to meet business growth or peak demand periods.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and inefficiencies in warehouse and shipping operations.Monitor and interpret key metrics, such as order accuracy, pick rates, and throughput, to make data-driven decisions.Reporting and Communication:
Report progress, goals, and challenges during daily management meetings.Keep senior management informed of operational updates and efficiency improvements.SKILLS:

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to motivate and coach teams.Ability to effectively resolve conflicts and maintain a collaborative environment.Experience building morale and ensuring accountability among staff.Operational Expertise:
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory management, picking routes, and order processing.Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize orders and meet deadlines.Experience in designing and scaling workflows to adapt to seasonal or peak demand.Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze and interpret performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.Strong problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges, such as supply chain disruptions or rush orders.Safety and Compliance:
Knowledge of safety and compliance standards for warehouse and shipping operations.Other Skills:
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to various levels of the organization.Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
