Job SummaryZurn Elkay Water Solutions is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead and support initiatives in physical and virtual warehouse optimization. The Industrial Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across all distribution centers by enhancing processes, systems, and layouts to maximize efficiency and throughput. This role works closely with the ZEBS team to execute continuous improvement strategies and tactics.
This role is based at our Grand Prairie, TX distribution center, with additional responsibilities supporting our facilities in Lumberton, NC, and Fontana, CA.
This position requires up to 33% travel.
Key AccountabilitiesUphold the Safety Standards to create a Safe Working Environment for the Team.
Design and implement warehouse layouts, workflows, and storage solutions to optimize space utilization, labor efficiency, and throughput.
Analyze and enhance material flow and inventory management processes to improve accuracy and reduce cycle times.
Utilize data-driven methodologies to identify opportunities for warehouse process improvements and cost reductions.
Create SOP for Key Functions of the Building such as but Not limited to; Receiving, Picking, Packing, Shipping etc.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement technology solutions, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation tools.
Conduct time studies and labor analysis to establish and improve standards for productivity and performance.
Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on warehouse performance.
Support process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across all distribution centers.
Provide engineering support for facility upgrades and expansion projects, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
Travel as required to the Lumberton, NC, and Fontana, CA distribution centers to support and implement optimization projects.
Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably in a distribution or warehousing environment.
Strong proficiency in warehouse management systems, CAD software, and data analysis tools including Excel and Tableau.
Experience with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 33% to support other distribution centers.
Preferably having Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
