Warehouse Operator/ Truck Driver

Job Description:

At the very source of our slab selection is the Warehouse Operator. An essential guardian on a slab's journey to the final destination, this position is responsible for sorting hold area slabs, selecting slabs for fabrication, and moving slabs to the necessary line location. Also responsible for driving, loading and unloading trailers, following Standard Operating Procedures when needed, and meeting unit quality and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for stocking racks using a sit down forklift & boom ensuring that safety standards are metCommunicate with Warehouse Lead or DC Manager when questions/problems ariseCommunicate with Warehouse Lead or DC Manager in regards to Final Inspection of material defects and inventory levelsLoad and unload inbound/outbound trailers with products of varying size and weightCheck product when unloading and loadingKeep work area clean and free of clutterFollow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Adhere to all safety requirements and (SOP)Assist other employees when time allowsOther duties as defined by management

Additional Duties and Responsibilities as a Driver:

Complete daily bills of ladingComply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulationsSubject to Department of Transportation (DOT) random substance abuse testingMaintain truck operating efficiencyMaintain safe operation and clean appearance of truckMaintain delivery, truck, and driving recordsUnload product of varying size and weightRetain knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulationsPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsReporting any maintenance malfunctions immediately after discovery of situationCorrectly obtain paperwork and signatures upon delivery and returning paperwork to administrator’s officeChecking product when unloadingLoad and unload inbound/outbound trailers

Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Experience: Twelve (12) months experience and/or training as a warehouse operator, forklift & Boom experience preferred . Two years of commercial driving experience with a straight truck.

Systems: Knowledge of ERP systems

Qualifications & Skills:

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)Ability to operate a forkliftMeet Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and medical requirementsPass pre-employment substance abuse test as a safety sensitive employeeAbility to operate a straight truck with a high degree of attention, skill, and dexterity to prevent damage to material and equipment.Ability to work independently and manage time effectivelyTact and diplomacy required in dealing with customers at delivery locations to enhance our organizations reputation by ensuring courteous customer serviceFamiliarity with region and routesKnowledge of the use of handheld scannersAbility to work overtime when needed

Travel Requirements: Occasional overnight trips

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods of timeMust occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 300 poundsAbility to work in a non-climate controlled environment

The US base salary range for this position is $23.00-$30.00/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education or training.
