Warehouse Manager- DLAOverview:
Performs full range of DLA Warehouse Managerial duties leading the activities and managing the receipt, stowing and issuing of material. Ensures items being stowed meet requirements of MIL-STD 129N. Must be proficient and able to instruct the correct use of anti-static devices. Maintains standards and approved procedures for COSIS/Shelf-Life inspection as required in depot contract agreement. Ensures kitting function procedures are followed and provide cost estimates for preparation of kits. Provides daily work assignments to other storage personnel assigned to work center.
Primary Responsibilities: Assists the Site Manager in scheduling work, responsible for instructing and aiding a group of employees. Performs evaluations and assists the Site Manager in maintaining a smooth flow of work and maintain records. May be temporarily called upon to act on behalf of a Site Manager in cases of emergency or absence. Identifies, examines, classifies, accepts, rejects, and disposes of material per DLA regulations. Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques. Conducts inventory/causative research, reads supply manuals, specifications, drawings, and prints. Maintains knowledge of procedures for leading material on and off skids, pallets, and stands. Conducts Shelf-Life and COSIS actions as necessary and conducts material coordination duties for special programs as required. Ensures labels are issued as required. Prepares reports as required. Maintains knowledge of correct and safe operation of tools and equipment as they are used in performance of duties. Receives data from and inputs data to WMS/DSS and other automated supply systems in performance of duties. Responsible for personnel correct and safe operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and hold appropriate licenses. Maintains knowledge of how to count, weigh, record data, apply tags and labels. Ensures that preventive maintenance adjustments to related equipment are performed. Ensures that all correct methods and processes for working with and around Hazardous Material are followed according to standards. Supervisory Responsibilities: Assists the Site Manager in scheduling work, responsible for instructing and aiding a group of employees. Performs evaluations and assists the supervisor in maintaining a smooth flow of work and maintain records. Ensures area of responsibility is operating in agreement with all referenced DLA Distribution SOPs, addendums, FRAGOS, and Process Manuals as required for day to day operational processing and preparation for any audit event. Responsible for compliance with the Audit Assertion Program reporting and documentation requirements, Assertion Memo IAW CDRL A034, to include monthly assertion reporting that assigned areas of responsibility are ready for audit and or corrective action plans are documented and being corrected if an assertion cannot be made. Responsible for the Audit Assertion Program functional areas of Offload/Tally, Receipt Induction, Stow/Warehousing, Re-warehousing and Stock Selection, i.e. Pick/Pack/Prep for Shipment. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum three years experience in Transportation using WMS in the past five years 2 years of college or technical school preferred (may substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis). Minimum 5 years general experience. Minimum 3 years specific experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, quality assurance, or related areas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of supply inspection/examination procedures for material. Knowledge of inventory research techniques for unmarked/defective material requiring identification. Proficient in the use of Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated distribution systems used at site. Familiar with MIL-STD 129. Proficient with Microsoft Suite including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software. Demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision. Ability to multi-task efficiently, works in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and has a strong attention for detail.
