What you do on a typical day
Planning the weekly workload, establishing priorities to achieve the set goals Organization to ensure that the process runs smoothly and in accordance with KPI's Provide training and assessments to their teams. Performance evaluations Ensure compliance with the rates and set up any corrective actions that may be required Analyse and coordinate procedures between areas and departments Ensure compliance with internal safety regulations AEO and those from ORP - OSHAS Ability to represent GXO Logistics towards our customer on their demands and opportunities to support their business Focus on continuous improvement techniques, quality / ISO management processes, productivity improvement and cost control within the operations Driving the overarching improvement (year)project that encompasses LEAN/5S methods and engagement tactics to make sure our high potential colleagues get their time to shine. Resolve issues, determine root cause, and implement solutions Supervises and develops staff and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable law Keeping track of the daily operational performances and developments as well as reporting on those during the weekly MT meetings. Keeping supporting departments updated on operational developments and vice versa, pro-actively connecting the right people to allow improvement projects to flourish. Extensive involvement in preparations for peak-periods associated with the Grocery Branche. MTO lunches to connect with colleagues regardless of function title, and location visits to the Living Facilities owned by our Agency partners to engage directly with colleagues from each organizational layer. On-call duty every 4 to 5 weeks, and being a vital point of contact in case of issues.
What you need to succeed at GXO
At least three years of experience in a warehouse role managing (a team of) employees Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal in English or Dutch
