Job summary: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Warehouse Operations plant. Immediate areas of responsibility include receiving, inventory and cycle count. Acts as a key member of the plant leadership team to ensure all the required results for key initiatives are achieved. The Warehouse Manager coordinates the receiving, shipping, and material handling responsibilities in the warehouse by designing and developing product movement and storage systems, improving operations, and supporting the front-line staff. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety for an entire business unit. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Design and maintain business processes through all semi-finished and finished goods warehouses, ensuring that all items are stored, maintained, retrieved, packaged, labeled and processed for delivery in a timely and cost-effective manner. • Plan, direct and control the activities and staff involved in the economical movement of inbound and outbound freight. • Develops strategies, systems and processes, aligned to the needs of the business, supported by the broader Operations team. • Uses root cause analysis techniques to solve Logistics problems occurring locally and globally. • Serves as the primary interface between Warehouse Operations and other functions participating in all meetings concerning critical issues and resolutions to Manufacturing Managers and other stakeholders. • Ensures an effective flow of communication between the Warehouse and other functions and across shifts. • Implements Lean tools as needed to eliminate waste and deploys 5S throughout all areas influence. • Identify resource needs and implements changes and improvements to existing systems and processes. Required Minimum Qualifications • 8+ years in a leadership position in warehousing, shipping, receiving or other logistics elements. • Ability to plan departmental growth aligned to organizational vision and strategy • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills, in addition to proven problem solving and analytical thinking skills required • Demonstrated experience in directing, planning and scheduling work for themselves and their team • Selected candidate must be highly self-motivated, while capable of influencing others at all levels in the organization • Must have a strong detail orientation balanced with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment • Working knowledge of SAP required Education/Certifications: BS Degree required, preferably in a Business Administration/Logistics strongly preferred Skills and Experience: • LEAN or Six Sigma certification, with track record of multiple successful projects, desired • Preference given to candidates with experience in export/compliance procedures (TSCA, RoHS, WEEE, DOT, etc.) • Proven knowledge and working experience in managerial function (preferably in warehouse operations and logistics) Note: This Job Description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
