Warehouse Manager
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for a vital part in the supply chain process to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and productivity targets are met. Warehouse managers are also responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the building and the stock. Qualified candidates must have experience with mobile devices for electronic entry of inventory items, ability to manage in fast paced high volume environment and quickly redirect staff as needed in emergency situations. 
  Essential Functions Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results, in the Warehouse and on Job Sites. Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Supports the Restoration Manager and the cleaning room staff. Supports the Refinishing Room staff. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system. Has a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and assists in implementing them. Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that stock such as chemicals and food are stored safely. Oversees the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment. Inspects, insures cleanliness, and maintenance of the company’s fleet of vehicles. Where appropriate, oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Has excellent customer service skills and the ability to empathize with our customers. Comply with company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards as well as having the ability to supervise employees to do the same. Has the ability and motivation to coach and train new and existing employees. Other projects and duties as assigned.   Experience and Qualifications Two to three years of supervisory experience. Hiring, coaching, employee development, and other management experience required. Ability to work well with others, maintain professional interaction with co-workers and vendors. Excellent oral and written communication skills An understanding of job costing Knowledge of the legal requirements of operating a warehouse Planning and organizing skills Must be analytical, and take initiative as necessary Technical and IT skills, particularly when it comes to database management and spreadsheets Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical and strategic level The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Has the ability to drive a box truck, van, and hi-lo Acquire and maintain a chauffer’s driver’s license Experience with estimating and inventory software a plus

 

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting over 50 lbs unassisted Sitting for extended periods of time Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks The ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary. Pass DOT physical
