Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils and shortenings for the industrial, retail and food service markets.

Working with Richardson opens to door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant at our Yorkton – Oilseed location.  Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for providing service within the Spare Parts Warehouse to meet internal customer and process requirements in support of the daily operations of the maintenance department.

Responsibilities:

Receiving and warehousing of parts and materials, including proper off-loading functions

Verification, inspection and storage of parts and materials received

Tracking inventory and picking up items from suppliers as required

Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rules

Participate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:

Always using the required personal protective equipment

Ensuring that authorized work is completed safely

Utilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazards

Participating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiatives

Reporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedure

Qualifications:

Completion of high school or equivalent

Previous experience in shipping, receiving and warehousing an asset

Forklift experience is considered an asset

Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word with experience in word-processing and/or data entry is required

A valid driver’s license is required

Must have proven interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, excellent problem solving abilities, able to show initiative and multi-task with a strong orientation towards teamwork.

An agriculture background is considered an asset.
