Warehouse and Temp Clerk

Job Description

The clerk is primarily responsible for helping the Plant Warehouse Tech and/or Maintenance Manager in receipt, organization and staging of parts and materials for upcoming outages. Other duties may also include operating a forklift to unload trucks, light filing, use of computer system (Maximo or Excel) for material tracking and staging purposes Candidate ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to warehousing and parts storage.  Develops a clear understanding of warehousing process and work with plant staff to ensure that needed inventory is reordered timely.  Occasional help with monthly inventory counts could also be required.  

Basic Qualifications:

Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate stations vehicles and forkliftMust possess a high school diploma or equivalentBe able to pass a drug/alcohol test and background check where applicableExperience preferred in the following areas: shipping/receiving, work management systems, and inventory managementDemonstrated ability to work in a self-directed environment, have excellent organizational skills and maintain multiple prioritiesComputer skills: excel, word, and work/inventory management systems Must possess the manual dexterity required to operate keyboards, push buttons, dials, valves, and mechanically actuated devicesMust be familiar with appropriate personal protection techniques and safety proceduresMust possess team awareness skills and team relationship skills

 Desired Qualifications:

Two years of work related experience desiredDemonstrated experience with general mechanical abilitiesDemonstrated effective verbal/written communication skillsExperience contacting vendors to resolve issues, request quotes, follow up on delivery or lead timesExperience in:  forklift operation and proper use of hand tools 

Working Conditions:

Station environment includes but not limited to temperature extremes, high noise levels, dust, fumes, climbing, lifting, and working around pressurized and energized equipment and tight work spaces.

Overtime work will be work past or prior to regular schedules and on an "as needed" basis and is routinely required. Outages in October, March and April will require weekend work as well.Majority of working hours will be Monday through Friday, 0700 – 1530 with 30 minute unpaid lunch.Able to pass respiratory physical and wear all required safety equipment.Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, climb ladders, work in extreme heat or cold, lift up to 50 pounds, walk/work on grating surfaces at extreme heights and work in confined spaces, tight work areas.
