Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards. • Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis. • To serve guests in an assigned area under and without the supervision of a Supervisor. • To set trolleys and trays according to procedures and policies of the department. • To report guest comments to the supervisors. • To ensure before delivery of order in the room that all items needed are placed on the tray or trolley. • To collect polished glasses, crockery, cutlery and other operating equipment from dishwashing area for operation. • To collect door knob menus overnight for trolley preparation. • To prepare mis-en-place in In Room Dining area. • To deliver and setup all VIP amenities. • To pick up guest used trays and trolley from rooms and check all suite equipment is returned. • To carry out any other duties as and when required by the Assistant Manager. • All other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience: Experienced in F&B In Room Dining department in Luxury properties.• General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data. • Technical Skills: • Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION: The purpose of In Room Dining is to cater to guests who wish to consume food and beverage in the room. The guest expects to receive quick and efficient service, therefore, the room service waiter has to be courteous, friendly and professional. A person in this position must be neat, polite, well versed in his duties and honest and take a strong personal interest in the guest's needs.
