Position: Catering Server/Runner
Hours: Part-time
Pay rate: $15/hour
The Catering Server Position performs work to set-up banquets and receptions, serve menu items according to the Banquet Event Order (BEO), clear tables after service and assists in breaking down events. Catering Servers are the face of the Food & Beverage department and should have great customer service skills and a positive attitude. This position is part-time and hours are driven by the Old National Event Plaza's event schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Report to work at your assigned time in proper uniform
Read BEO and know how to complete setup
Set tables in assigned area correctly and uniformly
Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage
Run plated food to distribution areas
Carry large trays with up to eight (8) plated meals from back service halls to tray jacks in the room
Assist Lead Server or Supervisor in setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Some experience in the food service industry is desired
Knowledge of proper serving procedures is imperative
Ability to work unsupervised while being focused and detailed
Meet all personal hygiene and health department standards
Strong organizational and customer service skills
Must be able to work well with others as part of a team, but also work independently
Must be able to work well under pressure and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires stooping, lifting, walking and standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 40lbs on a regular basis.

WORKING ATTIRE
Professional service attire is to be worn on event days. This includes a black, long sleeve button down shirt with collar, black pants without holes, black socks or stockings and black non-slip shoes. Non-event days is casual dress (no sweats or work-out gear). Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn as requirements dictate.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have reliable transportation
Must pass a background check
