**Job Description:**
GDIT is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented **Vulnerability Analyst** to join our cybersecurity team. This role requires a professional with 10 years of experience in vulnerability management, specializing in creating and managing large-scale Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing vulnerabilities across a wide range of technologies, from cloud environments to workstations, while coordinating across multiple teams to ensure risk is properly assessed and mitigated.
The Vulnerability Analyst will work closely with vendors to capture remediation strategies and will be tasked with compiling and uploading these strategies into SharePoint and Archer to support Indian Health requirements. The successful candidate will ensure both internal teams and external vendors meet Indian Health’s POA&M requirements and timelines, playing a critical role in maintaining the security posture of the organization.
**HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:**
POA&M Management:
+ Lead the creation, management, and tracking of large-scale POA&Ms to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across various technologies, including cloud platforms, workstations, and on-premises environments.
+ Ensure all identified vulnerabilities are captured, tracked, and remediated in alignment with Indian Health requirements.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
+ Collaborate with internal teams, including security, engineering, and IT operations, to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely and effective manner.
+ Work closely with vendors to gather detailed remediation strategies and timelines, ensuring that all parties are aligned, and that risk is properly communicated and managed.
Remediation Strategy Management:
+ Engage with vendors to capture specific remediation strategies for vulnerabilities, ensuring they meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
+ Consolidate multiple remediation strategies into a coherent action plan that addresses the root causes and mitigates security risks.
Documentation & Reporting:
+ Upload and maintain all POA&M-related data into SharePoint and Archer to ensure accurate tracking and documentation of remediation efforts.
+ Provide regular status updates and reports on POA&M progress to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Risk Assessment & Communication:
+ Evaluate vulnerabilities from a risk perspective and ensure they are properly conveyed to key stakeholders, including leadership, vendors, and technical teams.
+ Ensure that vulnerabilities are tracked throughout their lifecycle and risk is appropriately mitigated.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
+ Ensure all remediation efforts are in line with Indian Health POA&M requirements and industry best practices.
+ Continuously assess and improve processes for vulnerability remediation to maintain a robust security posture.
**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:**
**Requirements:**
+ Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or years of equivalent experience
+ 10+ years of experience in vulnerability and POA&M management
+ Experience with managing large-scale remediation efforts across multiple teams and technologies
+ Hands-on experience with POA&M management tools, particularly SharePoint and Archer
+ In-depth knowledge of risk management and experience in effectively communicating risk to different stakeholders
+ Experience working with vendors to capture and document remediation strategies
+ Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
+ Ability to travel <25% of the year, if needed
**Preferred Qualifications** :
+ Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or similar cybersecurity-related certification.
+ Experience working in regulated environments, particularly within IHS or similar healthcare environments or government sectors.
+ Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and other regulatory frameworks.
+ Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple remediation efforts simultaneously.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
+ Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

The likely salary range for this position is $127,254 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
