The Team Leader is responsible for meeting business commitments for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. The position aids the Shift Leader(s), Supervisor(s), and Manager(s) in tactical decision making and facilitates process improvements and training. The Team Leader possesses leadership ability and highly effective communication skills. The position is expected to spend much of the workday on auditing, training, coaching, and facilitating continuous improvement. The Team Leader communicates all pertinent information to the Production Supervisor or Shift Leader.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
o Facilitates root-cause problem solving (RCPS) with employees to overcome obstacles to achieving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives. Manages their individual work cell using the DBS / DPP tools.
o Develops each team member to become effective in his/her job through training, counseling, and checking results. Monitors and evaluates performance of employees and provides feedback as required. Recommends corrective actions as required.
o Makes and executes decisions regarding work assignments that support KPIs and cross-training. Responsible for developing other team members.
o Coaches the team(s) to achieve success. Fosters a culture of employee empowerment, high-performance and teamwork. Mentors team members and facilitates team-driven performance.
o Takes responsibility for 5S activities within organization with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
o Takes ownership for the achievement of operational targets. Coaches team members and support groups to focus on KPIs.
o Monitors conformance to process and quality standards and ensures compliance.
o Drives change and innovation. Builds continuous improvement culture within team(s).
o Tracks productivity and quality, taking actions as necessary to meet KPIs.
o Behaves ethically and responsively. Models Danfoss’s “Behaviors in Action” and supports the core values of the organization.
o Serves as an extension of the Supervisor or Shift Leader. Directs and assigns employees as needed. Serves as designated leader / point-of-contact in the absence of Supervisor or Manager.
o Engages in troubleshooting quality issues, equipment issues, and any other operational challenges.

Education and/or Experience
o High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
o Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience, preferred candidates will have related experience in the functional area that they will be leading.
Preferred Qualifications: (Education, Skills, Experience, and/or Languages that are nice to have but not required):
o Post-secondary education is preferred, but not required.
o Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience, preferred candidates will have related experience in the functional area that they will be leading.
o Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel are preferred.
