Job Description

Role/Responsibilities:

Help drive technical standards and architectureLead and contribute to a range of software development while focusing the team to solve the most challenging problemsBuild high-quality software, utilizing modern cloud and edge approachesManage, hire and develop a team of high performing software engineersLead cross-functional efforts from the early stages through releaseInfluence organization roadmap priorities, system owners, and technical directionRepresent difficult trade-off decisions and solutions to stakeholders to help them understand optionsGuide the technical direction and decisions to deliver a solution that meets GE HealthCare high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent15+ years of experience working in software engineering, including the design and development of highly scalable web services7+ years of experience as a people manager in a software development organization, responsible for hiring and developing a team5+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and delivering commercial and/or consumer softwareExperience in partnering and effectively communicating with product and program management teamsKnowledge of technology and modern development practices including Object Oriented principles (C++, Java or similar language), Service Oriented Architecture

 

Desired Qualifications:

Master’s in computer science or a related field5+ years of software development management experienceDeep hands-on technical expertiseProject Management experience with agile development methodologyAbility to take raw product requirements and create software architectures and designs to bring them to lifeExcellent interpersonal skills: ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Engineering, Program Management, Quality Assurance, and Senior LeadershipStrong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and opinions
