VP - SBU Head
**Function Purpose:** SBUH is responsible for project delivery in DE delivery organization, within practice areas and geographies and ensures on-time and at-cost delivery; enables pre-sales, sales and solutioning teams in client relationship management, offering development and solutioning support; enhances business outcomes for customers, employees and shareholders. Customer driven high quality innovation infused service delivery is a key purpose of the role. **Responsibilities:** Financial Performance Mentoring Owns end-to-end delivery commitments of identified SBU aligned to Markets. Works with commercial business partners to focus on revenue growth and revenue protection activities. Own shadow P&L for identified industry verticals and practice areas and ensure meeting of margin targets. Delivery Execution Oversee process adherence across delivery teams and intervene in case of critical flags. Track SLA adherence, KPIs, CSAT and other project metrics and take corrective action when necessary. Risk identification, mitigation, management and reporting at cross-practice level. Delivery Excellence & Innovation Identify market gaps, opportunity for new process set up for seamless deliveries. Design initiatives to minimize delivery costs & improve productivity. Provide inputs into new solution creation and track success. Promote deployment of standards, tools and methods to increase delivery performance. Ensure adequate focus on continuous innovation and supporting Practice / Offering org in creation of standard solutions (incl. IP / assets / accelerators). Drive cost of delivery improvement (incl. Offshoring, Pyramid, Utilization, Automation release, Sub-con %) Drive & generate business Defend current revenue and contribute to revenue expansion. Support in new deal pursuit, review and approve delivery model of the engagements at solutioning stage Talent & Capability management Mentor and track career development for the delivery team. Design career progression roadmaps to enable growth and retain talent through job moves. Partner with HR to address employee engagement & attrition. Thought Leadership Create a PoV on important topics aligned to industry/practice; go-to people in their field. Trusted source with innovative ideas; turn ideas into reality and know and show how to replicate their success. Client relationship management Personally own senior level client relationships for key accounts and build strong loyalty. Track client engagement frequency and purpose, across major accounts, to ensure adequate client engagement. Work with key clients to understand their needs and help them see the value addition by Cognizant. **Required Capabilities/Skills/Years of Experience:** Strategic understanding: understands success governing core and critical initiatives and translates to minimize delivery costs & improve productivity Industry and business knowledge: Deep knowledge of IT services/IT outsourcing globally; ability to communicate across technical and practice stakeholders Delivery Management: Expertise running multi-GEO and Industry delivery Effective Communication: effective communication skills to clearly articulate vision and lead effective teams across the enterprise, bringing valuable insights Relationship management: Outstanding interpersonal abilities; skilled in managing relationships with executive leadership and business units, effectively aligning stakeholders to strategic plans and mediating conflict Leadership experience: Excellent organizational and leadership skills to build strong Strategy function and lead by example; strong budgeting, talent management, and business operations skills **Experience:** Minimum 15+ years in senior leadership role and minimum 10+ years in IT services industry. Preferred: Senior leadership role in project and product management, Deep technical expertise across competency areas, experienced managing large global teams.
