Apply Today! **Job Summary and Qualifications** The VP Quality and Patient Safety is responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing all processes related to organizational quality, outcomes measurement, clinical education and patient safety. He/she is responsible for analysis of business metrics and communication to relevant stakeholders. The VP works with Hospital Leadership to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of CMS, TJC, OSHA, EPA, EMTALA, HCFA, etc. Provides strategic direction and oversight for Clinical Quality, Infection Prevention and Education Functions Co-chairs Hospital’s Quality Council with designated Medical Staff Leader and insures timely reporting through Medical Staff Leadership and Board of Trustees Works with Hospital Leadership, Patient Safety Director, Quality, Hospital and Medical Staff to facilitate the hospital’s Performance Improvement/Patient Safety Plans Works with Hospital, Market and Division Leadership to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of CMS, TJC, and QRS Co-chairs the Patient Care and Safety Committee; providing support for continuous readiness program, department-specific performance improvement and spread of best demonstrated practices for improvement across departments and the organization In partnership with the Chief Medical Officer provides support for the Medical Staff OPPE and FPPE and Peer Review programs Oversees the organization’s data abstraction and reporting program, including CMS and other reporting requirements (CMS Value Based Purchasing Measures, , HCA metrics and reporting, , ACOS, Joint Commission, Gallup) Provides process improvement knowledge, methods and conceptual expertise to Hospital Leadership, Quality Staff, Infection Prevention and hospital directors. With Quality Staff, assists hospital directors in interpreting and presenting department data clearly to staff and service lines With Quality Staff, Patient Safety Director and Infection Prevention, ensures a proactive approach to, serious reportable events, hospital acquired conditions and hospital acquired infections. Maintains reporting and ongoing follow up and compliance relative to HAC’s and HAI’s Reports trending data (clinical outcomes, aggregate occurrences, etc.) to Hospital Leadership, Medical Staff/hospital departments/Board of Trustees based on external benchmarking efforts and internal review activities Facilitate continuous readiness rounds in clinical areas with Patient Safety, Quality and Infection Preventionist Assist hospital directors and staff teams in improving patient care systems and processes With Quality Staff, Patient Safety Director, Chief Medical Officer and Medical Staff Services, oversees the organization’s Ongoing Professional Practice and Peer Review program Represents the Hospital in health care programs and professional organizations and serves in a public relations capacity to stimulate professional and organizational growth Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement Attendance, works as scheduled **Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree in business or health care related field required MHA or MBA preferred Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality Working knowledge of performance improvement methodology such as Lean or Six Sigma Working knowledge of hospital data collection, analysis and reporting Working knowledge and understanding of medical record coding and auditing Proficiency with Joint Commission/CMS quality measure definitions Must be high energy, systems oriented with excellent analytic and communication skills Must be able to empower and delegate **Experience:** Minimum five years progressive leadership and management experience in quality, case management, risk management or records management Hospital leadership and operations experience preferred Located in Derry, NH, Parkland Medical Center (https://parklandmedicalcenter.com/) is a regional acute-care hospital offering 86 beds and a Level III Trauma Center.
