VP of Sales 

 

Accountable to nurture and grow the Bayer Consumer Health sales organization by building capabilities and delivering on business commitments.  Ultimately the goal is to be utilizing insights, and driving strong relationships to drive joint value creation while delivering leading-edge plans to become the Best Consumer Health Company in the Eyes of our Retail Customers.

What you will do:

Responsible for building strategic relationships with top customers, moving Bayer from a transactional to a strategic partner.  Leads broad team of sales professionals including those supporting Ecommerce, National and Regional Accounts both with in-house sales team and broker and in-store execution partners.  Leads relationships with senior executives at Canadian retailers.  Direct accountability for sales delivery and management of trade spend.  Ensures compliance with trade-spend and customer contracts to maximize ROI.  Works with team to identify and execute topline and bottom-line generating opportunities and deliver financial commitmentsBuilds joint-value partnership with retailers to drive win-wins, maximizing category growth and leading to sales fundamentals improvements for BayerCoaches and builds capabilities to enhance selling capability leveraging insights from sales, category and brand teamsDirect/indirect responsibility to build and grow Omni/Ecomm strategy and accelerate performanceAccountable for coaching team and facilitating resources, skills and expertise across the business to respond to changing market and customer needsInfluences and participates in building pricing and merchandising strategiesInfluences decisions around trade marketing and display strategy and how to leverage these areas to drive win-win and incremental supportWorks together with trade industry associationGains insight from regional and global partners to strengthen selling capabilities

 

Who you are:
•    Minimum Bachelor s degree in Business or related field
•    Minimum of 10 years within OTC/CPG environment in Sales plus a minimum of 5 years leading a national salesforce, working with Canadian retailers
•    Excellent financial and business acumen, strong ability to prioritize on what matters and with a bias for action and energy to drive for results.
•    Proven quantitative analytical capabilities and able to turn insights into action and influence
•    Proven track record of trade spend management and optimization
•    Ability to coach and empower sales professionals at all stages of career
•    Deep Canadian retail experience and proven ability to build relationships with key customers
•    Passion for building, nurturing and growing team culture and building strong relationships
•    Seasoned judgment, critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze complex issues and make strategically sound recommendations and quality decisions even in the face of ambiguity
•    Superior English communication skills: able to speak and present effectively to all levels of the organization and listen effectively, fostering open communication and transparency
•    Strategic mindset and cultivates innovation and experimentation
•    Ability to inspire and motivate others and build effective teams to achieve common goals
•    Strong analytical and negotiation skills, industry/channel expertise and consultative selling skills
•    Demonstrated EComm and Digital leadership capabilities
