Overview The Vice President, Human Resources (VP, HR) is a key member of the Fairview Pharmacy Solutions (FPS) senior leadership team, responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with the business goals of both Fairview Pharmacy Solutions and Fairview Pharmacy Services. This role will focus on talent acquisition, retention, and development to create a high-performing workforce, while fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace culture that reflects Fairview’s values. Additionally, the VP, HR will oversee organizational development programs, performance management, and leadership initiatives to drive employee growth and business success. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer of Fairview Health Services (FHS) with a strong dotted line to the CEO of Fairview Pharmacy Solutions, the VP, HR will act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights on talent management, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness. The role will ensure alignment between FPS’s unique needs and the broader Fairview framework, integrating corporate HR initiatives with those specific to the pharmacy business. The VP, HR will also partner with the Fairview Health Services HR Centers of Excellence to deliver services for compensation, benefits, employee relations, and compliance efforts, ensuring all HR practices are ethical, compliant, and aligned with the company’s objectives. Responsibilities Job Description Leadership and Strategic Partnership Serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic HR insights and partnering with leaders on all HR-related initiatives. Align closely with FPS business objectives, maintaining a strong investment in the success and growth of FPS. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior team, advocating for business needs while balancing alignment with Fairview Health Services’ mission and values. Talent and Workforce Strategy Lead end-to-end talent management initiatives, including workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and succession planning for key roles. Develop and execute innovative strategies to attract and retain top talent, positioning FPS competitively within the employment market. Drive pay equity initiatives and ensure compliance with HR and payroll standards, while maintaining a strong focus on fairness and accuracy in all employment practices. Organizational Culture and Engagement Act as a steward of FPS’s organizational culture, fostering an inclusive environment that values diversity, promotes equity, and supports employee engagement and well-being. Champion FPS’s values within both FPS and Fairview corporate HR, ensuring a unified, collaborative approach to supporting employees across both organizations. Influence and Bridge-Building Serve as a bridge between FPS and Fairview corporate HR, facilitating open communication, and building strong, collaborative relationships across functions. Utilize strong communication and influencing skills to bring others along in supporting FPS’s unique HR needs and aligning corporate support for initiatives. Think creatively and strategically about HR initiatives that extend beyond traditional boundaries, including cross-functional projects that impact the entire organization. Operational and Compliance Excellence Partner with corporate HR for all operational aspects of HR, including payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance within a not-for-profit framework. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices, maintaining high levels of accuracy, consistency, and accountability. Deliver consistent, high-quality services and support, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational demands. Departmental Leadership and Development Support a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Leverage prior experience HR leadership positions to ensure efficient and effective HR processes and outcomes. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Experience Minimum of 5 years of senior HR executive leadership experience in a for-profit organization, with at least 5 years in the healthcare industry. Strong preference will be given to candidates with senior HR executive leadership experience specific to Pharmacy organizations. In-depth understanding of for-profit and non-profit HR requirements and compliance, especially within a Pharmacy setting. Significant experience in talent management, compensation planning, inclusive of sales compensation and incentive plan design, succession planning, performance management, workplace planning, and employee engagement strategies. Proven ability to lead in a collaborative, integrated environment and to influence across diverse stakeholder groups. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to balance day-to-day HR operational duties with long-term strategic initiatives. Skilled at bringing people along, advocating for change, and aligning with both FPS and corporate HR goals.
