VP, Total Rewards and HR Systems - Hybrid
At Vitalant, our mission to save and improve lives through blood donation starts with empowering the people who make it happen. We’re seeking a Vice President, Total Rewards & HR Systems to play a critical leadership role in shaping the employee experience across the organization. This role will drive the strategy, design, and administration of Total Rewards programs that attract and retain top talent while ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational goals. Additionally, you’ll oversee the strategy and optimization of our integrated HR/Payroll systems, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for candidates, employees, and leaders. As a key member of the senior HR leadership team, you’ll collaborate closely with other HR leaders to enhance employee engagement, maintain data integrity, and deliver innovative HR solutions that support Vitalant’s lifesaving mission.  

What to Expect

Schedule: Monday - Friday  

Work location: Hybrid.  Employees living near a major Vitalant location can work in a hybrid environment combining remote work with in-office collaboration.

As the Vice President, Total Rewards & HR Systems, you'll get to:

Develop and lead a forward-thinking Total Rewards strategy to align with business goals and enhance employee engagement and performance.Analyze market trends and best practices to maintain competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs.Oversee compensation policies, job architecture, pay equity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Manage the design, administration, and evaluation of enterprise-wide health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.Lead wellness initiatives to promote employee well-being and engagement.Partner with IT to drive HR/Payroll system strategy, ensuring data integrity, system stability, and effective records management.Collaborate with stakeholders to oversee third-party vendor relationships for benefits and compensation programs.Play a key role in annual budget planning, including managing benefits and salary/merit budgets.Lead HR projects, ensuring quality outcomes and effective implementation.Stay informed on industry regulations, trends, and standards, and guide necessary organizational changes. Knowledge/ Education  Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredKnowledge of federal and state Wage and Hour and benefits laws/regulations (such as FLSA, ERISA, IRS, FML, ADAAA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA) required.Knowledge of wage and salary administration practices; job evaluation techniques, and automated HRSystems operations; Federal and state legislation regarding record keeping requirements (e.g., records retention, employee access, confidentiality, etc.) required.      Licenses/ Certifications   Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) or Human Capital Strategist (HCS) preferred.    Experience Ten years related experience required. To include:  Six years leadership experience. Eight years compensation and benefits management experience including compliance and strategic total rewards program design. Five years of experience with HRIS.  Multi-state environment experience required.  Previous experience leading successful development and implementation of enterprise-wide solutions and projects is required. Prior experience interfacing with C-suite executives and influencing their decisions is required; interacting with the Board of Directors is preferred.    Skills/ Abilities  Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.  Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Must have a participative management style, strong team development, coaching skills, and the ability to lead and motivate senior and executive-level managers. Effective oral and written business communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.  Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities. Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem-solving skills.  Must have proficient computer skills.
